About

What does it mean to create digital scholarship in the humanities? I am investigating this question by remixing my dissertation, Bachelors of Arts : Bachelorhood and the Construction of Literary Identity in Antebellum America
(2002) as a work of digital scholarship. I will explore:

  • How to find relevant resources using electronic databases and search tools
  • How to use analytical tools such as text analysis software to see patterns and arrive at new insights
  • How to make the research process transparent
  • How to engage the community in this work (hence this blog, powered by CommentPress)
  • How to present works of digital scholarship
  • And more

Please add your own comments and questions to specific chapters or even paragraphs in "Bachelors of Arts." This blog uses the Institute for the Future of the Book's CommentPress, "an open source theme for the WordPress blogging engine that allows readers to comment paragraph by paragraph in the margins of a text."
